In 1895, John R. Cox Sr. decided to open a jewelry store, Cox Jewelers, in Sweetwater, Texas. As of today, Cox Jewelers has celebrated 114 years in business. Ronnie Cox and his daughter Lisa Cox Sanders, represent this family-owned business today. They are both certified gemologists with the American Gem Society. Cox Jewelers now operates in two locations, the original store in Sweetwater, Texas, and a newer location in Abilene, Texas. John R. Cox started the tradition of selling quality merchandise and professional service with honesty and integrity, all of which still remains.
Both stores carry an assortment of fine jewelry lines, Waterford crystal, as well as Rolex and Seiko watches. One can also stop by Cox Jewelers to pick out a popular John Hart accessory or even giftware for a house. Fourth generation, Lisa Cox Sanders, points out that, “with the purchase of a gift, our customers will be treated to free gift-wrapping with our trademark Cox bow on it.”
Cox Jewelers is opened six days a week and welcome everyone to stop by and browse through the store. Their hours are from 9:30 to 5:00. “We invite you to start your own family tradition this year with a special gift from Cox Jewelers to passed down through your family’s generation.”
